Power AirFryer XL Review

Today I’ll be talking about the power airfryer XL. Now the power airfryer XL is a kitchen appliance that uses turbo-cyclonic air instead of oil to cook your food. This turbo-cyclonic air is basically a whirlwind of superheated air which is very similar if not identical to a convection oven.

Now the makers of this airfryer claim that this type of cooking results in fewer calories and more healthy meals. Some of the major claims of this airfryer is

  • Features six different cooking methods this airfryer is supposedly able to fry, bake steam saute, grill and roast
  • Reaches the temperature of 400 degrees in a matter of seconds
  • Uses little to no oil
  • One touch easy cooking
  • Dishwasher safe.

The company claims that using this air fryer is as easy as loading the basket with food selecting that appropriate setting and then enjoying your prepared meal.

So let’s go ahead and put that to the test. Here I have a three point four-quart version of the airfryer in color black.

This air fryer is a fairly simple appliance. It has a light-up display and is basically composed of a removable outer basket as well as the fry basket. Now the set also comes with a food separator insert which can use if you want to cook two different types of food and of course you can insert and remove this separator as you wish.

Now the outer and fry basket assembly can be removed simply by pulling on the handle and after that, you can press the red release button to release the fry basket from the outer basket. Now on my first few attempts, I did find it fairly difficult to press the red button with one hand and remove the fry basket. However, after a couple of tries, it seemed to release a lot easier and is definitely manageable with just one hand.

Now it’s important to know that this fry basket is the only part of this air fryer that is actually dishwasher safe. No other part of this air fryer can go into the dishwasher. The outer basket has to be washed separately by hand.

The back of this air fryer does have an air outlet vent which releases hot steam during cooking. This is definitely something to be aware of since it does release pretty hot steam. It’s also recommended in the instructions that this vent is not obstructed and always kept open.

The display menu is also pretty straightforward. It has four main option buttons:

  • Power button which is located in the center
  • Preset button which is directly below it
  • Time control button to the left
  • Temperature control button to the right

This air fryer comes with seven programmed cooking settings which you can list through by pressing the preset button identified by the letter M. These presets are fries, shops shrimp baked goods chicken steak and fish.

These preset choices come with pre-programmed temperature and time settings. However, you can also adjust the temperature and time setting annually for each individual dish. The maximum temperature but this airfryer reaches is 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

This also comes with an automatic shut-off timer which is a very nice feature. With this airfryer, you also get a small recipe booklet which features 27 different recipes as well as the instructions manual.

Test Power Air Fryer

Now one of the big claims is that this airfryer has six different cooking methods so I wanted to go ahead and test out each one of those methods to see just how well it performs.

1. Air Fried French Fries

For my first experiment to test out the air frying capability of this airfryer, I decided to make french fries. Now the recipe from the provided recipe book calls for blanched potatoes which I seasoned and added just a couple of tablespoons of oil for flavor.

I selected the french fries program which comes preset for 18 minutes of cooking at 400 degrees. Now halfway through the cooking time, you are supposed to pull out the outer and fry basket assembly and shake up the fries to ensure even cooking.

A very nice feature on this airfryer is that at any time during your cooking process you can remove the outer basket to check the doneness of your food without interrupting the preset timer and temperature. As soon as you put the basket back in the timer picks up exactly where you left off to add that correct temperature to finish preparing your meal

Once the timer was done the airfryer did shut off automatically and I had these pretty appetizing french fries. All the residual oil is collected on the bottom of the outer basket and while this cooking method doesn’t give you that crispy deep-fried taste. These fries turned out to be very good they weren’t oily or greasy at all. As you can see from the paper towel which collected barely any oil at all.

2. Grilled Rib Eye

Next to test out how well this air fryer can grill I decided to prepare a nice piece of rib eye. For this particular recipe, the instructions do recommend that you pre-heat your air fryer for turning it on for four minutes prior to cooking your food.

After the four minutes floor up, I place my rib eye into the fry basket, select the steak setting and adjust at the cooking time to 14 minutes per the instructions in the recipe book. I do need to turn your steak halfway through cooking and after about 14 minutes total the steak was done.

What this air fryer you, of course, aren’t going to get those grill marks but it does give your meat a nice color. My steak came out medium well and tasted fairly good. You can adjust the time accordingly to have your steak prepared either more well or rare. But the only downside is that if you were to cook this steak 10 minutes instead of the 14 that’s recommended, you wouldn’t have as much color on your steak and it would probably come out looking a lot more boiled rather than grilled.

So well it’s definitely possible to make a steak in this air fryer that’s maybe rare or medium rare. It won’t have that beautiful color that you really want on your piece of steak

3. Roasted Chicken

To test out how well this air fryer can roast, I wanted to try the roasted chicken recipe. I have a non-frozen about five-pound roasted chicken that’s been seasoned and lightly drizzled with oil. As you can see this is about as big a chicken as you can fit into this 3.4-quart size of the airfryer.

After selecting the chicken program I made sure that the timer was set to 20 minutes and the temperature was set to 360 degrees and after 20 minutes the top of a chicken seemed to be cooked really well.

It may be even a little too well due to the large size of the chicken and once I turn the chicken over to cook and roast on the other side you can see that the other side was entirely raw and uncooked.

After an additional 20 minutes, I check the chicken for doneness and it was well below that required 160 degrees. So I went ahead and put it in for additional minutes of cooking.

Throughout the next 20 minutes, I kept checking the temperature periodically and found that after about 15 minutes my roasted chicken was at 160 degrees so I decided to take it out since parts of the skin looked almost burned by this time.

The chicken did turn out to be fairly juicy and tasted well. However after it really started carving into the chicken and getting closer to the bone, there were parts that I would have liked to cook just a few more minutes.

Ideally, I would have liked to roast this chicken another maybe five to ten minutes but the difficult part is that the surface and top of the chicken cooks and browns so much quicker. Because it is so much closer to the heating element of this air fryer which would most definitely give me a very dark and probably burnt skin

4. Steamed Vegetables

Steaming is one of the six cooking methods that this air fryer claims to do and I wasn’t exactly sure how air fryer or something similar to an oven can steam. So to test it out I decided to try making steamed vegetables.

I actually tried to find a recipe for steamed vegetables in the recipe book as well as online on the Power air fryer XL website but I wasn’t able to find anything.

So I decided to improvise and gave it a shot and I seasoned some mixed vegetables and drizzle some olive oil and place them in the fry basket for about 10 min at 320 degrees.

After 10 minutes that vegetables look very much roasted and nothing close to steamed. They still had a lot of crunch to them and weren’t very soft and tender on the inside.

Now to steam anything you would have to add water to the airfryer spray that’s steam that’s required for steaming. However, the instructions clearly state to not put any liquid or water into the outer basket.

From the brief demonstration video that the airfryer XL has on their website they do show a separate pan that is inserted into the fry basket that you could probably fill with water and get that steamed cooking method. However, they certainly don’t make that easy to do with the items that you’re given in the box.

Based on that I would say that it’s impossible to steam in this air fryer unless you purchase additional appliances that would allow you to safely add liquids into this air fryer and allow you to steam.

5. Sauteed Fish Fillet

For my next experiment, I wanted to try making a nice piece of salmon fillet. On the company’s website, they showcase a piece of salmon as something you can make using the saute cooking method. However again I wasn’t able to find a recipe anywhere for that particular dish.

I had a fairly large piece of salmon and generally notice that the part of the meat that is on top gets a better color and cooks some more. So I placed my seasoned salmon fillets skin side up. I selected the pre-programmed fish setting and let the fish cook for 10 minutes.

After the 10 minutes were up I didn’t really get that nice crispy skin and there were definitely parts of the fillet that could have used a couple more minutes. However, for the most part, the fish looked good it tasted very good it was juicy and had a really good flavor.

Just to experiment I did put the fish fillet into the air fryer for an additional four to five minutes which may have been a bit too long but still, the result was very good. The fish was cooked well and juicy and I thoroughly enjoyed the finished product.

6. Baked Mini-pies

Finally, Airfryer XL claims that you can use this for various baking dishes which actually makes a whole lot of sense because essentially this is a small convection oven.

However to test this claim I did want to try making a pie. I bought a 9-inch foil pan and lighted with pie crust. However, I was pretty disappointed to find this 3.4-quart size doesn’t fit a basic 9-inch pan.

So I had to get creative and I decided to instead make individual size mini pies in small ramekins. Unfortunately, I was only able to fit 3 ramekins into the fry basket and after cooking the dough for about 5 minutes on the big setting, I filled the ramekins with fruit filling and put it back in for an additional 15 minutes at 310 degrees.

And not very surprisingly this air fryer baked if the pie is just fine and the result was quite delicious. The obvious downside of course that you’re not able to fit a standard 9-inch pan into this 3.4-quart size of the air fryer

In the best-case scenario, you can only make 3 mini pies at a time which is hardly a time-saver

Ask for the cleanup of this air fryer I do have to say that it is fairly painless. I never spent more than a couple minutes washing the fry basket and the outer basket and most of the time I did it by hand.

It is important to remember that only the fry basket is actually dishwasher safe. The outer basket has to be washed by hand. However given how easy it is to clean those fry baskets and outer baskets I don’t know why anyone would really want to wait for a whole fish washing cycle to wash these appliances.

Another point that I feel is important to know is that the recipe booklets provided could have definitely used more thought and editing. There were some pretty glaring mistakes and oversights throughout the book.

For example, in the roasted chicken recipe, the instructions state to season the turkey of the chicken also the ingredient list with that same recipe didn’t indicate the unit of measurement for garlic powder. So you really didn’t know if it was one teaspoon of garlic powder or tablespoon.

Of course, these errors are not detrimental to cooking but it would have been nice to see some more thought and proofreading go into a product that retails high price

Bottom Line

So here is my final verdict on the airfryer XL. I must be honest and after my first test with the French fries, I was thoroughly impressed with this airfryer.

However after further testing and using this product I’ve come to the conclusion that it is nothing more than a small oven. It really doesn’t do anything that a convection oven can already do.

The claim that you need to use very little to no oil when using this air fryer is very true but it’s also true for any recipe that you can make in your oven. Having said that here are my pros and cons

1. Heats up quickly

One of the positives is that this air fryer does heat up very quickly the instructions do say that if you want a well-heated airfryer you just need to turn it on for three minutes. I wouldn’t say that it’s a matter of seconds but it does take just a couple minutes to get it fairly hot.

2. Easy to use

Another positive is that this air fryer is truly very easy to use the menu is very easy to understand and to navigate. After about minutes you can easily feel comfortable using this air fryer lastly

3. Easy clean-up

The cleanup of the outer and the fry basket assembly truly is very simple it never took me more than a couple of minutes to wash everything by hand.

1. 3.4 QT model too small

For the cons the biggest one for me was the size of this three points four-quart air fryer it really was too small for many meals. At most you could make maybe fits three pieces of steak or fish fillet at a time and like we’ve already seen you cannot fit a standard nine-inch pie pan inside of this airfryer.

So you would really need to get creative if you wanted to do some baking

2. Not all features work

The second negative is that it doesn’t truly deliver on all six cooking methods that this airfryer claims to do. The biggest one for me was the steaming option which is basically impossible without purchasing additional appliances to make this work

3. Doesn’t go above 400

The last negative for me is that this airfryer does not go above degrees Fahrenheit which is a pretty high-temperature setting but it’s not quite as high as your standard oven can go.

So while this airfryer didn’t have an overwhelming amount of pros or cons for me it comes down to whether or not I need to spend a hundred dollars for another bulky kitchen appliance that can really do slightly less than what a normal oven can already do

For me, that choice is pretty easy and that knows the airfryer is not something that will make my life easier or really speed up the cooking time for my meals or change the way that I approach my meals.

So I really hope that this was a helpful review for you please.

Farberware Air fryer Instructions

Today I’m reviewing the Farberware Air Fryer. Most people buy air fryers because they are trying to cook with less oil and it’s a good alternative to deep fried foods. With most of the food that you cook on the air fryer, you only use about one tablespoon of oil.

farberware air fryer review-1The air fryer works by circulating hot air at a high speed. There’s also a top-heating element inside to help cook the food from all sides. You can use this unit to reheat food and not just to cook food. It’s best not to put greasy fatty foods like sausage in here, because the unit could catch fire.

Farberware air fryer manual

The instruction manual has recommended cooking times and temperatures for room temperature food and frozen food. Even with frozen food it’s recommended to bring the food to fridge temperature and not straight out of the freezer. There’s a separate recipe book with recipes for fried chicken, French fries, vegetables and desserts like cookies and brownies. If you want to bake in this air fryer use a baking tin, a foil tray or any other type of dish that you would use in a regular oven. Of course, you cannot use cardboard or plastic.

Farberware Air fryer Review

The unit measures a little over 13 inches tall and 10 inches wide. The power indicator is on top and the temperature indicator is right below. The temperature control knob that you can set anywhere from 175 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Timer that you can set from 1 to 30 minutes. It’s also the on and off switch.

There are pictures showing how much time food takes to cook, which is helpful so you don’t have to pull out the manual. The air vent is in the back and you don’t want to block that. You can cook up to 2 pounds of food in this unit.

farberware air fryer review-2When you first pull the air fryer out of the box, there’s a really strong plastic smell. Before using the air fryer for the first time, turn the heat to 400 degrees and let it run for about 20 minutes. After the unit cools down, wash the basket and the holder.

To use, put the unit on a flat surface and make sure there’s a few inches of space around it. Put the basket into the holder, put your food in the basket, close it and set the temperature and time. Both the power and temperature indicators will be lit up. It is known for the temperature indicator to go on and off during cooking.

The basket goes into the holder. If you want to take the basket out, just push this cover forward and press the red button and you can just pull up the basket.Goes straight into the holder.

The basket and holder are dishwasher safe but I’d recommend hand washing it. To clean, use a damp sponge with a mild detergent. You can use that for the outside and inside; just make sure that everything is dry before you turn the unit back on. Also don’t use any metal scouring pads or anything abrasive to clean the unit. Test with French fries

I’ll cook French fries first. It’s best to use a maximum of 1.2lbs of potatoes for French fries, and these potatoes are just about that weight. I’ve peeled and cut them up into about a quarter inch thickness. Some are a little bit thinner; some are thicker. These are two large potatoes.

farberware air fryer French fries -1Now you do have to soak them in water for 30 minutes. I’ll drain these and dry them really well. I’m not adding any spices to the potatoes because I just want to see how pure French fries turn out.

Before you cook the French fries, you have to heat the oven to 400 degrees for a few minutes. The temperature dial is at 400 and I’m going to turn the timer to 5 minutes.

You can see both the lights are on. It’s been 5 minutes, so I’ll take the basket out. I’ve rinsed and dried the potatoes and coated them in 1 tablespoon of oil. Always coat your food with oil; don’t ever pour oil into the tray or the holder. I’ll put the potatoes in. You can see the basket is half full.

The temperature is at 400 and I’m going to set the timer to 10 minutes. You can hear the air fryer; it sounds like a fan. It’s not very loud.

farberware air fryer French fries -2So when the timer goes off you’ll hear a ding. Ten minutes are up; I’ll take the basket out. You can see some of the fries are crispy around the edges, just going to toss these.

If you have to shake food during cooking, pull the basket out, shake it and put it back. The unit turns off when you take the basket out and turns back on when you put the basket in.

The timer will keep running down, you don’t have to turn the timer on again. Now we’ll put this back and cook it for about 5 to 10 minutes. I’ll set the timer to 5 minutes and check the fries. After 5 minutes, they’re almost cooked but not quite and they still don’t have much colour on them so I’m going to put this is for another 5 minutes.

farberware air fryer French fries -3The 5 minutes timer is gone off so now it’s been a total of 20 minutes. Here are the fries. Some are golden like this one and some are not. Let me see if they’re cooked. They are cooked; I’ll just taste it. They are cooked but some of the thicker ones are just cooked in the middle. They could use a few more minutes.
So after 20 minutes, most of the fries are done, it’s just that there’s barely any colour on them and they’re not crispy. There are very few in here that are crispy. I want some more colour on my French fries because otherwise it just doesn’t look very appetizing.
I’m going to put this back in the fryer for another 5 minutes.

So it has been another five minutes for a total of 25 minutes. They are way browner now, which is good. These are acceptable. There are still some white ones there, they’re not even at all but there are some that are crispy and some that are not. I’ll just taste this one. It is crunchy. As you can see they are not the prettiest plate of fries. Twenty-five minutes should be more than enough to cook French fries.farberware air fryer - clean up

Now I did do a review of the Phillips air fryer a while back. You can watch that review down below if you’d like and those fries cooked in about 22 minutes and most of them were a nice golden brown.
Now the clean up is very easy. There’s hardly any oil splatter in the basket and you can just wipe that off. The basket holder has a few drops of oil and some tiny pieces of potato, so clean up should be really quick.

I’m going to wipe this down and try to make chicken wings next.

Test with chicken wings

I’ve heated the air fryer for 5 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit. This is about one and a quarter pounds of chicken wings. I’ve put 1 tbsp. oil, salt, chilli powder, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder.

farberware air fryer chicken wings -1There are 12 pieces in here and they are in a single layer. Nothing is on top of each other so these should brown evenly. Put this in and I’ll turn the timer to 10 minutes and we’ll check the chicken after that. It’s been 10 minutes; I’m going to pull the chicken out. They actually look really good, I’m going to flip them over and you can see one side is whiter than the other.

I’ll put the chicken back and I’ll turn the timer on for another 10 minutes. When the timer counts down, you’ll hear a bell and the unit shuts off automatically, both indicators turn off. You can also turn the unit off manually by turning the timer knob to zero.

farberware air fryer chicken wings -2So now the chicken has cooked for 20 minutes. That looks nice and golden brown. The chicken is actually pretty even and golden brown everywhere. Looks good, I can see a little bit of white here. But for the most part it’s golden brown throughout. I’ll check this piece to see if it’s cooked. Now let me taste it; it’s very tasty and it’s cooked. You can see the meat comes off the bones nicely, so it is nicely cooked. It is crispy. Most of the parts are crispy, there’s a little bit of soft skin here but most of the chicken is crispy.

The chicken wings are very impressive. They’re cooked they’re crispy and they’re really delicious. That’s a really good-looking plate of chicken wings.

You can see the grease in the basket and the basket holder has about 2 tbsp. of grease in it. This is definitely a healthier way to eat chicken wings that taste almost like fried chicken wings. If you’re trying to avoid deep fried food, this is a more than acceptable version of chicken wings.

farberware air fryer chicken wings -3The housing is a little bit warm but the handle does stay cool during cooking. The air fryer did a great job on the chicken wings; they’re crispy they’re delicious, and a decent job on the potatoes. The potatoes were cooked through and tasted just fine; it’s just that they were not really crispy.

GoWISE USA GW22638 8-in-1 2.0 Electric Air Fryer

Airfryer Review

One of the most difficult challenges that every housewife has to face is to make a great dish yet still healthy. However, the method we use to cook our food somehow naturally affects our health. Example, Deep- frying.

I found out about a cookware that can help us solve this headache issue. This device uses a small amount of oil but still get us the best frying result. Some of you might have heard about it. It is the Air Fryer. The brand I mention in this article is GoWISE USA GW22638 8-in-1 2.0 Electric Air Fryer with Digital Programmable Cooking Settings.

When you try to make a fried dish, you have to use a large amount of oil to make it interestingly crispy enough to eat. This oil will, of course, be absorbed into your food and put your family at a risk of heart disease many other health problems. The leftover oil, which I pretty sure would be a large amount, also gains toxic if you leave it overnight. The frying process can make your house smell like a restaurant, too.

If your family is so in love with fried dishes such as chicken, sausages, fish and much more, you should consider this product. However, if you intend to fry a large amount of food, it might not work well, hence you have to fry separately with small parts.

Let’s delve into how the air fryer works.

  • This cookware is based on the flow of heated air. There is a powerful fan guaranteeing the air circulate inside the device and cook all your food. The part used to heat the air can be considered like a convention oven. All these things are combined to serve us the best fried food without worrying about the negative impact on our health.
  • You can fry without oil, too but I recommend using 1-2 spoons of oil to make all the potatoes and chickens crispier.
  • This air fryer is extremely suitable for busy people. Before, I had to wait 30-60 minutes or even one night for the food to be thawed. With this fryer, now I just put all the frozen fare inside and push a button, then the air fryer will finish everything else. It is not only beneficial to our health but also is a game changer in our busy life.
  • It is also really safe in the cooking process. You don’t have to worry about your children with all the hot pans and boiling oil things. Children now can do themselves fried chicken wings in just about 15-20 minutes.

Below I will give you some features that I found out about this air fryer:

  • 3.7 Quart Capacity
  • Timer (up to 30 minutes)
  • Automatic Shut-off
  • Adjustable Temperature Control
  • 8 Cooking Pre-sets
  • 1500W – 120V, 60Hz

This GOWISE 8 in 1 electric air fryer gives us a capacity of 3.7 quarts, which equals up to 4 portions of French fries, 3-4 chicken drumsticks, 4-5 chicken wings or 2 pieces of pork chops. If your family consume more, you can consider the 10.5qt Gowise turbo air fryer, which is larger and more comfortable for frying.

Auto Settings

To name 8 settings respectively, they are warm-up, chips, chicken, steak, meat, cake, and fish. These are all programmed so that you can just press the button and all the temperatures and time issue won’t become big troubles anymore longer.

Temperature and Time

If you are not fond of with the auto settings, you can still stick with the manual choices.

  • The cookware sets the minimum temperature is 176 degrees Fahrenheit, and the maximum one is up to 392 degrees. Every food from frozen to fried can be processed completely well under this range. It gives you full flexibility to cook whatever you want.
  • The maximum time is 30 minutes. Some might question if the air fryer cooks everything longer than usual, it does. However, we usually cook in this device for about 1 or 2 serving, so you don’t have to worry about the time because it will be much shorter.
  • One plus point is that you can stop the cooking process right in the middle to give the food a shake or something. Some other appliance doesn’t allow us to do this when the device is running.

There is an ETL mark in the product showing that this has reached the safety standards. And as my practical use, it shows me many relieved points.

  • First is that this fryer’s handle is not heated up during the cooking process, so that we can freely move the basket anytime we want.
  • The automatic program runs quite safely, too as I tried to remove the basket once when it hasn’t reached the target time, and the whole system went off completely. It totally switches off itself whenever we remove the basket from the drawer or the cooking process has been done. We don’t have to pay much attention as deep frying but still no overcooked accidents.
  • There is a guard button on the stay-cool handle, which keeps the release button inside. If you want to detach the basket from the pan, you have to slide the guard upwards and then the button that time will be revealed. This decrease the risk of falling off baskets and make sure our food is kept in a closed system.

Cooking basket and Pan

  • The cookware is equipped with a removable drip pan and a detachable metal cooking basket ( 8” x 8” x3”), which are made of iron with non-stick surface coating. The basket helps us a lot in shaking the food inside because of the solid walls.
  • If you use this machine, you need to shake your food halfway of the process to make sure it will fry evenly and your food can gain a beautiful golden brown color after all.
  • A feature that I am really satisfied is that it only has 1 basket. Every time I try to fry a different kind of food at the same time, it becomes a real struggle. In contrast, the Philips one offers 2 layers so that we can fry separate food.

If you are using GoWISE USA Air Fryer GW22611 & GW22612 Air Fryer as well as the 2nd and 4th generation Gowise air fryers, you can consider buying a baking pan for some liquid or semi-liquid foods.

  • Easy to use
  • Have 8 different cooking options
  • Automatically switch off when the food is done
  • Can be washed in the dishwasher
  • A recipe handbook is included.

  • Can’t see the food from the outside
  • Have to pay additional costs for accessories ( like baking pan, etc)

Clean up

  • This device is so dishwasher-friendly. All the things you can put into your dishwasher are the removable iron metal cooking basket, the Calphalon non-stick coating, and the basket holder.
  • One of some small tips that I use to get a quicker cleaning is soaking everything in hot water immediately after cooking. By this, when you get back from your meals, there is just a bit grease left and it is much easier for cleaning.
  • Adding that you should not use scrubs with the basket since all the small wires can get stuck in the corners and nobody want to spend more time to take them all out.

I scoured the Internet and also found many positive reviews on this product. It can do almost every fried dish from Chicken, French fries, to frozen foods and tater tots. The most impressive thing that people say about this is that there is no oil, which I believe is also the issue that you’re looking for.

Some alternatives:

1.VonShef 2.3QT (2.2L) Air Fryer 1230W

If you want to save space in your kitchen, you can consider The VonShef. It has a popular air fryer size of 2.3-quart basket. Furthermore, it can push the maximum heat up to 400F and still bring the warmness and crispiness to our food even when it only uses 1230W of energy. One more good point is that it won’t affect your energy cost. Save money, save energy still serve delicious food. However, it is lack of pre-cooking setting times.

2. T-fal FZ7002 ActiFry Low-Fat Healthy AirFryer Dishwasher Safe Multi-Cooker

If you are seeking for your large meal cooked in a short time, you should meet TFal. Its capacity is much bigger than the GOWISE one. With one teaspoon of oil, you can cook up to 2.2 pounds of food! Interesting enough, it is truly lightweight. So small but a real beast.

I believe Airfryer is a trend in modern cooking nowadays. It is a must-have item that can help us quickly deal with every deep-fry meal perfectly, even with a large amount of food. The cooking process will be no longer a burden to our housewife, and you won’t have to worry about oil issues anymore, too.

1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 yellow onion finely chopped
1/4 pound aged provolone, coarsely shredded
8 ounces Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
salt and pepper to taste
24 jalapeños, tops and seeds removed
3 eggs beaten
canola or vegetable oil, for frying

  1. Heat a large heavy pan over medium heat, then cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking up chunks with a wooden spoon.
  2. Remove ground beef to a layer of paper towels using a slotted spoon, and drain off all but a tablespoon of the fat. Allow the beef to cool to room temperature.
  3. Add chopped onions to the hot fat and fry until lightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from pan and allow to cool completely.
  4. When beef and onions are cool, mix them with the cream cheese and provolone until just combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Carefully fill each hollowed-out jalapeño using a small spoon and leave at least 1/2-inch of room from the top.
  6. Dip each jalapeño in the beaten egg making sure to get some inside the top opening, then very gently roll in breadcrumbs making sure to press some inside the opening, creating a plug. Since the outside of jalapeños are smooth and slippery, the poppers may require more than one coat of breadcrumbs to really make them adhere.
  7. Heat enough oil for deep-frying in a large pot over medium heat, about 360 degrees.
  8. Fry poppers in batches being careful not to overcrowd the pot or fryer until deep golden-brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  9. Remove from fryer, drain on paper towels and allow to cool slightly before eating.

2 tablespoons chopped scallions, for garnish
1 tablespoon roasted and salted sesame seeds, for garnish

Sausage and Sauerkraut Fritter Recipe

deep fryer Sausage and Sauerkraut Fritter Recipe

1 bag fresh sauerkraut, drained
1 large smoked sausage (Bauernwurst or Kielbasa)
4 slices thick-cut smoked bacon
2 tablespoons spicy mustard
1 cup Gruyere
8 eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs
For the breading
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3 cups breadcrumbs
For the sauce
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup whole grain mustard

For the fritters:

  1. Cut the bacon and sausage into small pieces.
  2. Heat a medium sized frying pan on medium heat. Add the bacon and sausage and cook for 4-5 minutes or until the bacon is slightly crispy.
  3. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. You can keep the bacon fat that remains in the pan and add it to the mixture to add flavor.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the drained sauerkraut, mustard, breadcrumbs, 6 eggs and cheese.
  5. When the bacon and sausage is cool, add it to the sauerkraut mixture and mix well. The mixture should be a little firm. Add a little more breadcrumbs to form a nice tight mixture.
  6. Take three bowls, large enough to fit the a few of the fritters into, and keep them separate. Add the flour, salt, and pepper to one bowl, 2 beaten eggs to the second bowl and the breadcrumbs to the third bowl, and keep your bowls in this order.
  7. Take a few of the fritters, place in flour, and roll them around to coat all sides well.
  8. Next, dip the fritters into the egg, coating all sides, then remove to the bowl with the breadcrumbs.
  9. Roll them in the breadcrumbs and place on a plate while you do the others.
  10. Once you get all of them breaded you should place them in the refrigerator for at least in hour. Overnight is even better. You want them to be very cold so that they stay together easily.

To Fry:

  1. Using a large Dutch oven or small stockpot, heat up the oil to 350º F. If you don’t have a thermometer just take a little piece of breadcrumb and drop it into the pan. If it sizzles, then it’s ready.
  2. Add the fritters one at a time leaving enough room for them to float around. If you put too many in at the same time the oil will cool too fast and the fritters will come out greasy and undercooked.
  3. Fry the fritters in the oil for about 5 – 6 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove them and place on a plate lined with a paper towel. Continue to fry them until all of them are done.

For the Dipping Sauce:
In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, honey, and mustard and mix well.

1/2 cup water
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup pale ale
1 tablespoon white sugar (optional)
1 jalapeno pepper, diced with ribs and seeds removed (optional)
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
8 links Andouille sausage
1 cup cornstarch

For the batter:

  1. In a blender or food processor, purée the chili with the water. Transfer to a medium bowl and add the buttermilk, beer, sugar, if using, and jalapeño, if using. Stir to combine.

  5. Fill two large drinking glasses three-quarters full with the batter.
  6. Working 2 at a time, quickly dip a sausage into each glass and immediately and carefully place them into the hot oil. Fry the corn dogs until the coating is golden brown, about 4 to 5 minutes, turning halfway through.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound ground pork
2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried pepper flakes (optional)
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 cup carrots, grated
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
25 wonton wrappers
1 egg, beaten
6 cups vegetable oil

  1. In a wok or pan, heat the two tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork, ginger, garlic, pepper flakes, and soy sauce.
  2. Stir fry the pork until it is no longer pink and all the liquid has evaporated, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Add the carrots and coconut flakes and mix thoroughly. Remove from the heat and cool completely.
  4. To assemble the egg rolls, put a tablespoon of the filling at the bottom corner of the wrapper. Lift the bottom and roll halfway. Fold the sides into the middle and continue to roll until you reach the tip. Use the egg wash to seal the ends. Make sure to cover the wrappers you are not using with a damp kitchen towel so they don’t dry out.
  5. Heat oil to 350 degrees and fry egg rolls until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Drain on paper towels. Serve the egg rolls immediately with the sweet and sour sauce.
